Baldarroch Chapel and Crematorium prides itself in using locals businesses wherever possible; be that in the construction of the building to the ongoing day to day support needed to make the Baldarroch the success it is today. Further information on our local business associates can be found be clicking on the title of the company on the text below.
WCP architects in Aberdeen designed the building which led to them being recognised with a ‘Highly Commended’ award for innovative Sustainable Development at the 2016 Aberdeenshire Innovation, Architecture & Design Awards. More details of this award can be found here. Bancon from Banchory were the main building contractor during the construction with other local and further afield contractors also playing their part in giving us what is a visually stunning building in a beautiful rural location in lower Deeside.
Now that the construction is finished we continue to work closely with highly respected local business from Aberdeen and the shire to ensure Baldarroch maintains it high standards of presentation. All of the granite memorials, entrance signs at benches in the Garden Of Remembrance are provided by Robertson Memorials. More details of the memorials on offer at Baldarroch can be found on this website.
To ensure the grounds of Baldarroch Chapel and Crematorium are in pristine condition at all times we utilise the talents of Banchory’s ‘Royal Warrant’ appointed Roy Cowie Landscaping Services. Roy and his team are also responsible for ensuring the roads and car parks on site are kept clear snow and ice during the winter months. To further enhance the grounds we have enlisted the help of Raemoir Garden Centre in Banchory who have planted the Alpine Garden which borders the side of the footpath and they have also provide all of the potted plants which a scattered around the grounds. With the assistance of Raemoir the potted plants are changed as the seasons progress through the year to ensure we always have a splash of colour even on the grayest of days.
Chapel is fitted with an integrated state of the art audio and visual system provides us with an ever increasing music library which currently sits in the region of 9000 pieces of music. The system also allows us to shown slideshows or videos on the two 75″ TV screens in the Chapel and the two TV screens in the Foyer. Tradition is not forgotten though and the multi faith chapel is fitted with a Viscount Envoy 35-F organ. None of this would be possible without the assistance of Atmosphere Lighting and Sound from Aberdeen who installed and maintain this equipment. Finally, the chapel would not be complete without the beautiful flowers which we have on display each week. We are fortunate that in Rosies Florist from Banchory we have an outstanding florist who ensures the chapel looks at it’s very best at all times. Rosie will also make and deliver floral tributes to Baldarroch Chapel and Crematorium should you require them for a funeral.
