Road Closure – Tuesday 14 to Friday 17 August 2018

The road leading from the A93 (North Deeside) Road to Baldarroch Chapel & Crematorium is closed during the period Tuesday 14 to Friday 17 August 2018.  The Council have assured us that Diversion signs will be in place to ensure that everyone finds their way to Baldarroch.  The route the diversion will take is as follows:

For those travelling via the A93 (North Deeside Road) from Aberdeen:

  • On leaving the village of ‘Park’ continue travelling along the A93 (North Deeside Road) for approximately 1.8 miles until you come to road signposted for ‘Myrebird’ where you should turn right. This road is easily identifiable as the main electricity line crosses the A93 at this junction and there is a large electricity pylon in the garden on the right hand side of the road.
  • On turning right stay on this road for approximately 1.6 miles where you will come to a ‘Give Way’ sign/junction (please be careful on this road as it is exceptionally narrow with very few passing places). Turn left at this junction which is signposted as ‘Crathes 1’.
  • On turning left stay on this road for approximately 0.9 miles where you will find Baldarroch Chapel and Crematorium on the right hand side of the road.

For those travelling along the A93 (North Deeside Road) from Banchory:

  • At the junction in Crathes where you would normally turn left towards Baldarroch carry on along the A93 (North Deeside Road) towards Drumoak. After approximately 0.9 miles turn left at the road signposted for ‘Myrebird’.  This road is easily identifiable as the main electricity line crosses the A93 at this junction and there is a large electricity pylon in the garden on the left hand side of the road.
  • On turning left stay on this road for approximately 1.6 miles where you will come to a ‘Give Way’ sign/junction (please be careful on this road as it is exceptionally narrow with very few passing places). Turn left at this junction which is signposted as ‘Crathes 1’.
  • On turning left stay on this road for approximately 0.9 miles where you will find Baldarroch Chapel and Crematorium on the right hand side of the road.

For those traveling from B9077 (South Deeside Road) from the Bridge of Dee in Aberdeen or from Stonehaven via the ‘Slug Road’.

  • At T Junction on the A93 (North Deeside Road) instead of turning left as you would normally do to go to Baldarroch you should turn right and head towards Drumoak. Carry on along the A93 towards Drumoak.

On leaving Baldarroch at the end of the service it is simply a case of re-tracing your steps to get home.  Once again, Diversion signs will be in operation.

Any inconvenience caused by this road closure is very much regretted however, it is totally outwith the control of Baldarroch Chapel & Crematorium.
